Okay, bottom line is you want some kind of standard by which you and your cohorts can get large, lumbering, armor plated monsters rolling across the land, belching black, acrid smoke and lobbing heavy shells into the enemy.
What I am proposing is that on the Excel spreadsheet that I have attached below you make initial changes to any area highlighted in yellow. Once these values are changed the sheet will recalculate and yield your remaining "Weight left for Components/Crew".
Account for the weight of every trooper, horse,gun, and supplies that you want you landship to carry and you are on your way.
