A group of Slavers consisting of 2 squads of arab rifles, 1 squad of arab spears, 4 light guns with arab crew, and 3 squads of native spears has raided a local plantation. What they did not realize is that the new owners of the plantation were expatriot Confederates who have dispatched their local militia of 5 rifle squads to destroy the raiders! |
| Facing south: After the first runner arrived with word of the approaching grays the Slaver kicks his personal body guard out of his grass hut. |

| Facing south: The arab spears working with felled lumber snatch up their spears at a command from the Slaver off to the left. In the background one can just make out several of the light gun crews to the top right. The bridge is in the center distance. |

| Facing north: The arab rifles appear uneasy as they hasten to load their plunder onto their steam launch and make for the safety of the jungle river! |
 |
| Facing north: On the opposite bank from the arab rifles the first group of native spears continue to share their beer while they guard the bridge. This is not the first time a possible false alarm has reached their ears. |
 |
| Facing southeast: The arabs continue to hurry and the natives continue to sip. |
 |
| Facing east: The various guns crews all go into action as the Rebel Raiders emerge from the edge of the tall elephant grass off to the right! |
 |
| Facing northwest: As dark rain clouds threaten several squads of Rebs rush forward with the Rebel yell as light artillery shells explode around them! |
 |
| Facing northeast: The natives charge in response and the fighting is spear to bayonet! The arabs don't even bother to stop shelling as their natives mix with the enemy! |
 |
| Facing east: The arabs rush to finish loading their launch as the natives delay the advance of the Rebels. |
 |
| Facing south: The guns continue their hot work pounding shell after shell onto the plains approaching the bridge at center top. |
 |
| Facing south: The arab riflemen crawl forward to the flank of the gunners on the hill and await their chance to ambush the enemy as he advances from the bridge! |
 |
| Facing west: The native spears swing around the left flank of the rifles and approach the wooden fence under cover of the jungle at left. |
 |
| Facing north: The Rebels suffer several casualties but manage to shoot down their attackers. Here several skirmishers peer into the beer vats before advancing to the edge of the river at top. |
 |
| Facing north: With only moments to spare the arabs manage to load their cargo into the launch and cast off! |
 |
| Facing south: The arabs pour an effective fire into the ranks of the Rebs adding to the continued fire of the guns still belching deadly missiles! |
 |
| Facing south: The Rebs halt a moment to exchange rifle fire with the guns and manage to clear some of them of their crew! |
 |
| Facing south: The arab rifles continue to wait for their chance... |
 |
| Facing south: And the arab spears on their left have made it to the fence! |
 |
| Facing north: The skirmishers continue to pick off the gun crews as they refuse to flee! |
 |
| Facing north: In the heat of the advance near the bridge enterance a rifleman takes careful aim... |
 |
| Facing northeast: The arabs receive a murderous counter fire which sends them scrambling for cover on their launch! |
 |
| Facing northwest: Several are hit and a couple jump overboard in their terror! |
 |
| Facing northeast: The survivors drift off the board to the rythum of the steam engine leaving one comrade wading in the deep river and another fleeing for his life at top left! |
 |
| Facing west: A momentary burst of lightning clearly reveals the arab left with the remaining gun crews on the arab right. Silenced guns can be seen atop the hill. |
 |
| Facing south: From the far right of the hill the arab gunners continue to bang away at the Rebs as they mass near the far end of the bridge at top. |
 |
| Facing south: The arab spear hop the fence and infiltrate through the jungle for a better position to pounce on the enemy after they cross the bridge. |
 |
| Facing southeast: A lone arab straggler staggers from the river at bottom left only to be shot down by Reb bullets from top right! |
 |
| Facing east: Reb officers have to move up and herd their men away from the native beer which "tain't so bad if ya hold yer nose...". |
 |
| Facing west: The Rebs begin their rush across the bridge as the final enemy gun continues to shell their ranks! |
 |
| Facing northwest: The arab spear take fire and a few casualties as the Rebs spot them in the jungle. |
 |
| Facing west: Another arab gun is silenced at top and the arab rifles open fire on the Rebs hiding on the bridge. |
 |
| Facing southeast: The last arab gun continues to work on the the enemy pushing arcoss the bridge. Arab spear can be seen at top left waiting for their chance to seek revenge! |
 |
| Facing north: Looking down on the gun pounding from top left onto the bridge and enemy at bottom who continue to fire on the spears at top right fearing them as riflemen. |
 |
| Facing northeast: The Rebs make a last push and establish a bridge head flooding out from their cover and firing at anything that looks like it could be an arab! |
 |
| Facing south: The Rebs as they file off the bridge at top. |
 |
| Facing south: The arabs as they desperately attempt to get their guns working again. If they can just load the double grapeshot in time! |
 |
| Facing south: The Rebs continue to strengthen their line as the right most guns crew decides to move their gun to a position where they can continue shelling the advance. |
 |
| Facing east: As darkness falls the Rebs are forced to call a halt to their advance and retain their hold on the bridge. The arabs continue to reposition and crew their guns and both sides await the coming of the morning light! |
